SMF Sutter Independent Physicians (SIP)

• The SIP medical group will be available in San Francisco starting in Jan 2027 and will provide access to Sutter/CPMC facilities and specialists. 

• If you choose SIP, all blood tests, imaging, hospital, outpatient services such as physical therapy, will need to remain in the Sutter/CPMC network.

• You will be able to keep me as your primary care provider. ​​

• If you are interested in choosing this medical group for access to Sutter/CPMC facilities and specialists, you will need to switch your current medical group* to SMF SIP. This can be done during open enrollment or anytime during the year (based on plan limitations). 

• You will need to contact your health plan and request a PCP assignment or network affiliation change to SIP. 

    *Medical group examples: Brown & Toland, Hill Physicians, AAMG, SIP
